Boutique branding studio

We build brands that hold up at every size, on every surface.

Layout Mechanics is a six-person studio working on identity, visual systems, packaging and social design. Every mark is drawn on a grid and tested in production before it reaches your customers.

What we make

Six disciplines, one system

All services
  • Logo & marks

Wordmarks, monograms and symbol systems drawn on a grid.

  • VI systems

Colour, type, layout and photography rules in one guideline.

  • Social design

Template architecture your team can run without us.

  • Packaging

Dielines to press check, with printer coordination.

  • Brand strategy

Positioning, audience and message before any pixels.

  • Brand stewardship

Retained oversight so the system stays intact.

A logo is not the brand. It is the smallest part of it that has to survive the most abuse.

Studio principle no. 4

Chapter 01

Identity that survives the resize

We draw marks on a grid, then stress-test them at 16 pixels, on a bottle cap, in one-colour foil and in a 4-metre window vinyl. If the mark falls apart anywhere, it goes back to the pencil stage.

  • Logo suite and lockups
  • Responsive mark variants
  • Production-ready file kit

Chapter 02

Social systems, not one-off posts

We hand over a template architecture: grids, type ratios, crop rules and caption voice. Your in-house team ships a month of posts in an afternoon and nothing drifts off-brand.

  • Post and story templates
  • Motion and crop rules
  • Voice and caption guardrails

Chapter 03

Packaging built for a real shelf

Dielines, substrate choices, ink limits and printer liaison included. We proof on the actual board, not on a screen, because a screen has never once been the point of sale.

  • Structural dielines
  • Print-ready artwork
  • Press proofing support
